About Ruth Dickson
Ruth was born in Scotland and moved to the Cowichan Valley in 1950 where she raised a family. She retired to the Comox Valley in 2002.
She first learned to draw from her artist mother and later trained with Arnold Burrel, Jack Wilkinson, Pat Martin Bates, Allan Edwards and Meg Ingram.
During a long artistic career she has drawn, painted, taught batik techniques and experimented with mixed-media works. Her work has appeared in special calendars and two paintings are on permanent display. Her most recent display is a collection of 20 large works in the St Joseph's Hospital cafeteria, Comox.
She has been featured at art galleries and exhibitions in Kamloops, Duncan, Nanaimo, Sooke, Mill Bay and Comox. She is a member of The Brushworks and the Federation of Canadian Artists.
